Over the last few years I have had the pleasure of working with a leather maker/designer in Oregon. These slips are perfect in every way. The leather is a vegetable tanned leather which won`t hold moisture and does not contain any harmful chemicals. Therefor, the knives will be protected from corrosion or damage. Overtime, the leather will stretch to fit any knife. With this knife slip, you can either squeeze or push to have the knife ready for use!

Using an exclusive blend of waxes, oils and tallows, the leather company hot stuff these leathers to bring out their inherent beauty. Through a traditional process called jack glazing, oils are brought to the surface to create a glossy finish that never mask the leather’s natural grain. As a result, Traditional Harness leather is ideal for equestrian gear, yet, when split to a lower weight, it’s equally suitable for leather goods.

Beautifully made premium leather slip!

This is a very well made premium tanned smooth leather slip with very nice stamped logo. While most people are touting this size for knives approximately 3.75” in length, it will also work well for thicker shorter knives. I ended up using this particular Buck brown color slip for a 3.5” OAL Tony Bose Case Saddlehorn stag horn, and the thicker swell at the butt of that knife makes it fit perfectly here. I bought this same slip in blue for a blue micarta Hedgehog which is also the perfect fit for that knife. The look and feel of these pouches is second to none, and I’ll be getting another chocolate one soon for an A.G. Russell Premium Scout which is also a perfect size for this slip. The only suggestion I would make is one others have made that a slightly smaller slip also be offered, for slimmer 3.25” - 3.5” knives, like the mini-trapper. I have a more slender Queen gunstock that’s also a bit lost in the standard size slip. Anyway, get one of these at least, you won’t regret the purchase!

Knife Slip

I ordered a traditional knife. The knife is a Lake Champlain Barlow with jigged titanium scales with a hollow ground m390 steel. I noticed that it came out of the small slip so I ordered a larger one. Austin took care of me by sending a new leather slip and let me keep the smaller one even offered to send it back but I ended up saying “ just keep it! “ that hollow ground m390 blade is ridiculously sharp and cuts great!

Great Gear, Great Price

As someone who truly appreciates leather goods, I can say that these C Risner pocket slips, especially for the money, are some of the best deals on the market. This is slip number five for me and it was an easy decision to make. The fit, the finish, the stitching, and the thickness and quality of the leather are all absolutely top notch. The slip is sized just right as well. Anything from a single blade Barlow to something thicker like a Victorinox Farmer will tuck away inside and be right there waiting when you need it, and this slip will protect the finish of your bolsters and scales in style.

Small leather pocket slip

Love mine works well for smaller case knives! It is worth the money will be purchasing more in the future. These would match well with a nice suit!
