King is the new nickname for this knife. The reason I say this is it embodies everything that I love in a knife all in one. For clarity my example is the fat carbon dark matter glow... I think this knife is a huge success, There is no negative other than it's not made in the U.S.A. except for it is designed here, and the manufacturing by Q.S.P. is incredible and if we could find that resource in the U.S.A. that would be great, but right now nobody's doing it...
I have a pretty vast collection of knives and what I particularly love about this knife Is that it has the qualities of everything I love about my other knives in one knife. I truly have a lot to say about this knife but for me, even compared to my other knives, several hundred more expensive, this knife just clicks in my mind as just about perfect. I could do a 10 minute review on this knife bringing up the quality I see in the sum of it's parts, and how it hits home for me on a personal level. But I suggest you purchase it and see for yourself. Understand this is a slip joint, if you aren't familiar make sure you understand what that is first. For the rest of you collectors, like myself, this one is it. Lastly I have heard reviews about the size. I think it's perfect! I truly love the length and how nimble it is. I have skinny fingers but XXL length so it's a perfect match for me. For me this is knife of the year and I probably grabbed about 30 this year. This knife will be a lifemate for me and I don't easily give that award. So I say long live the king! Great work Austin, you made a timeless knife and I love it.
1. Great design. This is literally how knives used to be for actual pioneers.
2. Incredibly sharp and well ground. Nice!
3. As an Appalachian I must say missed opportunity not calling the glow carbon the “lightin’ bug’ scales
4. Can we please ever get a stockman style knife? These mod trads are amazing but I just wanna see a stockman so bad!!!
When you hold this knife you can feel the quality. The handle feels good in your hand, it’s rounded in all the right places. The blade is super-sharp. The snap on the opening and closing is very satisfying. I put it next to a couple of folding hunters and it’s about three quarters of an inch shorter than they are. I found it comfortable to carry in the front pocket of my jeans. I’m happy I bought it and it will have a spot in my rotation.
I loved this k life so much a had to buy a second in all titanium! Beautiful knives that are large and great slicers!
