RoseCraft Blades Mill Creek Cotton Sampler Black Sandalwood (RCT024-BSW)

I kid you not when I say this is the best modern example of the Cotton Sampler pattern on the market. I've held variants from the mighty GEC to the lowly Rough Ryder and this RoseCraft iteration beats them both for form, function, and value. Sure, the GEC is a touch nicer and has being US made going for it, but for the extra dollars and incredible scarcity it just doesn't make sense. And the RRs are decent but for a bit more money these blow them out of the water. The pull is a bit stiff, a touch more so than RCB's original run of the Loosahatchie but slightly less than the pull on their Otter Creek Barlows. The walk and talk are exceptional, the fit and finish are perfect, and the black sandalwood just looks so classy. I liked it so much I bought two.

This is my first of a dozen Rosecraft blades in black sandalwood, and is really striking against the satin finish blade. The deep belly of this knife is also unique, and makes it a super effective cutter. I’m very pleased with this addition to my Rosecraft collection, and would honestly part with one of the nice barlows from them before giving up this one. Just get it, you won’t regret the purchase.

As always, RoseCraft knocked this knife out of the park. The fit, finish, quality and overall aesthetic of the knife is superb. No other manufacturers at this price point can do what RoseCraft does. It’s my 5th, definitely won’t be my last.
